Black Mother of Pearl Square Lotus mirror

This new Lotus pattern is created by hand carving mother of pearl and arranging it on the square wooden frame of the mirror before filing over with a black resin that is then polished to a high shine. These mirrors are created in a manufacture process that is more cottage industry than mass production and we feel this is reflected in the unique and personal finish of each item. Crafted in the famous Lake City of Udaipur in small houses rather than a centralised factory each piece tells a story of generations of artistry. The City of Udaipur is famed throughout India as a hot bed of creative talent due to its high proliferation of Palaces, hence sculptures and carvers have gravitated towards the city for generations.
